Tom Liwa & Erwin Nyhoff

On the occasion of the concert series Sozialpalast (Münster) to mark the opening of the GrensWerte World Exhibition, two well-known musicians from both sides of the border will perform together at Kloster Bentlage: Tom Liwa and Erwin Nyhoff have agreed to show off their musical oeuvre in the multimedia caravan of Sozialpalast in the grounds of the cloister.

The all-rounder from Duisburg, Tom Liwa, has been performing as a solo artist for more than 35 years and has released countless CDs over the years. His music ranges from loud indie rock to intimate chamber music, and even pieces with the ukulele. With his band Flowerpornoes he performed on various stages around the world in the 1980s. He was involved with diverse projects such as Paradies der Ungeliebten and the Tim Isfort Orkest, and wrote lyrics for other groups. Currently he is involved with cultural work and he gives workshops and seminars.

Erwin Nyhoff is a singer-songwriter from Hessum (a hamlet close to Dalfsen, Overijssel province). He has been active in the music business since 1991 and is a familiar figure in the alternative music scene. He is the former lead singer of The Prodigal Sons and with this band he performed at the Pinkpop and Lowlands festivals, and even supported Pearl Jam and Alanis Morissette. After the band broke up, Nyhoff went solo as The Prodigal Son and not long afterwards under his own name. In 2011 he became better known among the general public as a result of his performances on the TV talent show The Voice of Holland (season 2), reaching the final in January 2012 and finishing third. His success in The Voice of Holland has meant that he toured across the whole of the Netherlands: from the Huishoudbeurs [a trade fair aimed at housewives] to the Zwarte Cross festival. Currently, Erwin Nyhoff is on a solo theatre tour in the Netherlands.
